Final Stretch of Startup Stampede…

11:11 am in Latest & Greatest by Avatar

Startup StampedeWe’re on the final stretch of the Startup Stampede incubator program in Durham, NC. And oh, what a great experience it has been.

We’re busily preparing for our presentation at the Stampede graduation ceremony Wednesday November 16th.

.
So we’re polishing up Vybee.com, polishing up our pitch… and our shoes.

And who knows maybe even revealing a sneak peak of our mobile app coming out soon.

Headed up by the Durham Chamber of Commerce, and Downtown Durham Inc, the Stampede has been an excellent experience for us to meet local talent and start-up success stories such as Chris Heivly of Mapquest and Triangle Tech Talk, Aaron Houghton of iContact and Eden, Taylor and Joel from Shoeboxed, and so many more.

Adam Klein from the Durham Chamber and Matthew Coppedge from Downtown Durham Inc. have been such great ringleaders in guiding us away from the desk and face to face with others that can help us grow our business.

We grew to love Durham even more in the short time we’ve been here and the possibility of setting up shop in Durham sounds very lucrative mainly because we felt an encouragement that’s hard to find.

We look forward to continuing with the great connections we’ve made as we’re really just getting started to take this project to the next level.

Our final presentation for Startup Stampede will be Wednesday November 16th at 5:00pm in Rigsbee Hall, downtown Durham, NC.

If you’d like to attend this private function and hear some of the latest innovations coming out of the area, let me know and I’ll do my best to work out an invite.

Excellent Meeting with Vybee Collaborators.

8:34 am in Latest & Greatest by Avatar

We hosted our second Vybee Collaborators meeting to kick off the new year
(this past Sunday Jan. 30th, 2011).

We have some very talented people coming through
with a real sense of vision and dedication in building up
and improving this platform for local engagement.

(It ended up being a productive & inspiring 5 hour meeting.)

And I really get the sense that everyone is ready to get the ball rolling
in their own good ways to take Vybee.com to the next level.

Here is a high level outline of some of the things discussed at the meeting,
including the spark of a Vybee.com Fund-raising / Launch Party,
discussed late into the night’s post meeting.

.

We went over some basics on how to use the site
and really got under the hood to uncover the power of  Vybee.com.

- Join public groups on Vybee.com
to keep up and participate with your local interests
and directly communicate with your local communities.

- Posting in Vybee.com gets the word out to a dedicated list
+ Facebook & Twitter with one click.

- The easy way to post media through Vybee.com + other useful guides and support
found in our support site: http://Support.Vybee.com

- Become a local interest reporter through our easy to use system
for local micro-blogging.

.

Then we really got into how we’re going to grow
and evolve this platform in the coming year.

- How everyone can invite friends and build up our local communities.

- Key feature development in the works this year.

- Becoming a place for local people powered information, and real-time engagement.

- How we can create useful solutions for local businesses.

.

If you’d like to get more involved with this project for local engagement,
join us in our group for Vybee collaborators where we are continuing the discussions
and now forming crews to take on some exciting missions…

+ find out about our next collaborators meeting coming up soon.

.

Look forward to rocking some good things with Vybee.com this year.
